You hear a lot of buzz words around vaping and e-cigs, some may be obvious, others not so much. So we put together a quick glossary of the most common terms used.

Atomizer– Heating element used to vaporize e-liquids.

Battery– An e-cigs power source. There are different options, including rechargeable vapes, and portable chargers for your car.

Cartridge– Small container for e-liquids that makes contact with an atomizer to produce vapor. (Also referred to as Cartomizers)

Drip Tip– A plastic or ceramic tip placed used to improve comfort.

E-cig– A popular abbreviation for electronic cigarettes.

E-liquid– Every e-cigarette or vaporizer uses a “medium” to create vapor. The most popular of course is a liquid (that can contain nicotine). E-liquid (or e-juice) is contained in pre-filled, disposable flavor cartridges and is also available in various sized bottles

Juice – Another term for “e-liquid“.

Nicotine Strength – The concentration of nicotine in e-liquids, usually measured in a percentage of nicotine by mass. (Available on ReyVApe in five nicotine strengths: 3%, 12%, 16%, 18% and zero nicotine.)

Puff Count– The amount of puffs or inhales a vape provides before the e-liquid is finished.

Tank– A container for e-liquid that also houses an atomizer.

Throat Hit– A mild sensation in the back of the throat possible when inhaling nicotine. The intensity can be decreased or improved by changing the nicotine concentrations in e-liquids.

Sub-ohm– vaping means to vape with an atomizer that has coils for vape with a resistance value of less than 1.0 ohms.

Vaper/Vaping– A vaper is someone who uses electronic cigarettes.

Vapor– The gaseous state of e-liquid after it has been heated by an electronic cigarette’s Atomizer. This is the matter that is inhaled and exhaled when using an electronic cigarette.
